Group Sailings with AmaWaterways,
Heart of the River™

Group sailings are easy and lucrative – here is how you can create your own special group experience for your clients.

Creating Your Group Sailing

Creating a group river cruise may feel like a daunting task, but AmaWaterways helps their travel advisors navigate this process with ease. Group journeys are one of the most time-effective, lucrative opportunities available to travel advisors as you work to obtain bookings–here is how you can start yours today.

Why Make a Group Sailing?

With a minimum threshold of five staterooms for 10 guests, these groups can be a great way for your clients to celebrate birthdays or special milestones surrounded by loved ones. Groups also cater to special interest groups looking to explore the world and their passions together. The possibilities are endless!

Getting Started

The first step to putting together your ideal group sailing is to contact your regional AmaWaterways Business Development Manager (BDM). Your BDM will help you get the process started and put you in contact with your own personal Group Coordinator who will be at your side every step of the way.

Who is Your Group?

Several aspects of the group need to come together before you can begin advertising it to clients. What itinerary will this be on? What time of year will you be sailing? Is there a special occasion or theme that the group will center on? What kind of clients are you looking to attract? Your Group Coordinator will help you find the perfect answer to these questions.

Marketing Your Group Sailing

Your designated Group Coordinator can provide marketing materials such as customizable emails, beautiful flyers, and social media content geared toward attracting clients for your designated departure. Your BDM is also there to help. With numerous group reservations under their belts, they are an incredible resource as you market your specific journey.

Perks of Group Sailings

When river cruising in a group, your clients enjoy special savings – and you earn amazing benefits too!
Travel advisors can receive up to 18 percent group commission on river cruise fare, with an additional 12 percent commission on land packages, 10 percent commission on travel protection and extra hotel nights, and 5 percent commission on contracted air.
