A new Peppa Pig theme park targeted at preschool-age children is coming to Texas in 2024.

The park will be the second featuring the titular pig and her family and friends from Merlin Entertainments, which operates Legoland and several other theme parks, and Hasbro. Merlin holds a licensing agreement with Hasbro, which owns the Peppa Pig brand.

The new park will include multiple rides, attractions, themed play areas and shows based on the franchise. The first Peppa Pig theme park is in Winter Haven, Fla.

"Merlin's platform and reach continues to grow in the U.S. as we build on the success of the world's first standalone Peppa Pig theme park in Florida," Merlin CEO Scott O'Neil said in a release. "Given the incredible success of our Legoland Discovery Center and Sea Life Aquarium in Grapevine, Texas, the North Richland Hills community was a natural next step in our expansion and rollout."

Merlin isn't the first to target the Dallas-Fort Worth area with a theme park designed for young children. Universal Parks & Resorts in January announced its own project about 45 minutes to the northeast in Frisco. Universal has said the success of that park could be indicative of future, similar projects elsewhere.
