Sandals Resorts International plans to pour significant dollars into its St. Lucia portfolio, with both its Sandals Regency La Toc and Sandals Halcyon Beach all-inclusive resorts set to undergo expansion.

At the Sandals Regency La Toc, which opened in 1993 as Sandals' first St. Lucia resort, the company will be adding a new resort-within-a-resort "village" concept. The village will comprise 20 highest-category Rondoval suites, seven of which will include open-air rooftop decks.

Sandals' Rondoval suites feature conical ceilings, high-end bathrooms and private water features.

Guests staying at the Sandals Regency La Toc village accommodations will also have access to their own golf cart, as well as amenities like butler service and exclusive dining and entertainment options.

The village at the Sandals Regency La Toc is expected to open next year.

Later phases of expansion at the resort will include additional spa facilities, new suite categories and revamped golf course offerings.

Concurrently, at sister property Sandals Halcyon Beach, 25 new accommodations will be added to the mix. They include 20 beachfront, two-story villa rooms with large balconies and five Rondoval suites.

According to Sandals executive chairman Adam Stewart, the St. Lucia development projects are part of the brand's strategy to "grow from the top down."

"That means we lead with the development of suites," said Stewart in a statement, adding that the brand's Skypool Suites with infinity plunge pools, glass-floored Over the Water Bungalows and Rondovals "are suite categories that drive demand and generate the longest stays."

In addition to the Sandals Regency La Toc and Sandals Halcyon Beach, Sandals operates the Sandals Grande St. Lucian

Guests staying at any of the brand's three St. Lucia properties can take advantage of Sandals' "Stay at One, Play at Three" program, which provides complimentary exchange privileges and transportation between the trio.
