Taiwanese carrier Starlux Airlines will enter the U.S. market on April 26 with service to Los Angeles.

Flights will operate five times per week between Taipei and LAX.

Starlux, which describes itself as a luxury airline, will operate the flight with an Airbus A350-900 featuring four first class suites, 26 business class suites, 36 premium economy seats and 240 economy seats. All seats are equipped with seatback entertainment screens.

The airline is touting its meal service.

"The new flights will provide exquisite dining, including Taiwanese signature dishes prepared for all-class passengers," reads a Starlux press release.

Starlux began operations in 2020 and now serves 15 Asian destinations with a fleet of 19 Airbus A350-900s, A330neo and A321neos. Along with nonstop Taipei service from Los Angeles, Starlux is selling connecting service to Asian cities onward from Taipei.

The carrier has signaled its commitment to the Los Angeles market with a promotional deal making it the official international airline of the Los Angeles Clippers pro basketball team.

Tickets for the upcoming Taipei-LAX service are available in GDSs or on the Skylux website.

Starlux will compete with Eva Air and China Airlines on the route, Cirium flight schedule data shows.
