JetBlue will restructure its TrueBlue loyalty program early next year by adding two new Mosaic loyalty status levels, changing its status-accrual mechanism and offering awards to customers even before they achieve Mosaic status.
"We are evolving our loyalty strategy to deliver even more value for customers across our entire suite of travel products and partnerships, including those who take advantage of our strategic partnership with American Airlines," CEO Robin Hayes said in a prepared remark.
Currently, JetBlue has two status tiers, Mosaic and Mosaic+. The revised TrueBlue program, however, will have four tiers, known simply as Mosaic 1, Mosaic 2, Mosaic 3 and Mosaic 4.
To reach each status, TrueBlue members will accrue what JetBlue is calling tiles, which will replace the Mosaic qualifying point and flight-segment thresholds that currently determine Mosaic status. One tile will be earned for every $100 in qualifying spend, which includes expenditures on flights and flight ancillaries, as well as purchases through JetBlue Vacations. In addition, expenditures on car rentals, lodging and activities purchased through JetBlue's Paisly website will go toward tile credits. American Airlines flight purchases will also go toward tile accrual.
TrueBlue members will also earn one tile for every $1,000 they spend using a co-branded JetBlue credit card.
How to reach new Mosaic thresholds
Mosaic 1 status will be achieved once an individual has accrued 50 tiles. One hundred tiles will be needed to achieve Mosaic 2 status; 150 tiles will be required to reach Mosaic 3; and 200 tiles will be the threshold for obtaining Mosaic 4 status.

Mosaic status members, depending on the level they achieve, will receive perks including early boarding, free checked bags, free in-flight alcohol and upgrades to extra-legroom seats and JetBlue's business-class Mint seats. Mosaic 4 TrueBlue members will also get credits for complimentary helicopter transfers between Manhattan and either JFK or Newark Liberty.
In addition, all Mosaic status TrueBlue members will get to choose among other perks, such as a pet-fee waiver, a 20-tile bonus or a $99 credit on JetBlue credit cards.
Perk selections, though, won't be limited to Mosaic level members. As part of the revamped TrueBlue program, members will be able to select a perk with each 10 tiles they accrue prior reaching the 50-tile Mosaic 1 threshold. Options are to include Group B early boarding, priority security lane access, one free alcoholic drink per flight and TrueBlue flight redemption bonus points.
JetBlue said it will retire Mosaic qualifying points and segments sometime next spring at which point the tile-tracking system will go live and TrueBlue members will become eligible to select any perks they have earned to that point in 2023.
Existing Mosaic status members will be assigned their new status level based upon how much they spent in 2022 or how much they have spent up that point in 2023, whichever is greater.
